Located in the neighborhood of Oakland in Pittsburgh, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral is located at the corner of the Boulevard of the Allies and Dawson Street. The Oakland neighborhood is home to the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the Carnegie Museum of Art, Phipps' Conservatory, and other world-class cultural institutions.

St. George Cathedral is under the omophorion of His Grace, Bishop THOMAS, of the Diocese of Charleston, Oakland, and the Mid-Atlantic, a diocese of the Self-Ruled Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.
The current Dean of the Cathedral is Father Demetrios Makoul.
